It appears like many people are making mistakes regarding the business opportunities they are getting involved with and what it takes to successfully market them.

There are scores of business opportunities out there and people are pouring into them like fanatics. Some of these opportunities are with companies that have been around for years and are solid, proven winners. If you are one of those people that picked a first-class business opportunity I am pleased for you.

But to my sadness, there are many companies out there that are pretty rickety deals. They guarantee you instant treasures – all you have to do is become a member for them, pay your monthly fees, and then you can sit back and rake in the bread. Incorrect, this is not how it works.

The fact is, there is a colossal crash rate among associates trying to start a winning home based internet or network marketing business. Close to 95% of the persons that join these online business, whether they are reputable companies or one of the fly-by-night instant get rich schemes, will fail at making enough money to stay in business.

Assuming you picked a solid business opportunity there is one key fact to consider if you want to be among the profitable.

You have to understand the marketing required to make your business successful. If you don’t know how to market you will most likely be unsuccessful.

And, you need to understand the most essential piece about marketing and that is the production of leads.

You must have leads so that you can convert those leads into sales and/or recruit them into your business. The distressing part is that most network and Internet marketers fall short in the most essential part of their marketing – lead generation. And the plain reason is usually because they do not know how to market appropriately. But you can with no trouble change that and get the know-how you need.

To help you acquire a better understanding of the many pieces involved in lead capture, I am going to set everything out for you in a relationship chart or marketing map. The most critical piece of the map is at the core – the squeeze page. The lead capture page is crucial to your marketing and once you learn how to do all the different types of marketing they all point back to one thing – and that is your lead capture page.

No matter what kind of marketing you are doing, whether it’s SEO, MySpace, Digg, Blogs, etc., all of that traffic needs to be targeted to proceed to your lead capture pages.

To repeat, all of your marketing needs to drive all of your traffic to your lead capture page.

Fundamentally, the plan is for you to start marketing using any or a mixture of traffic generation – lead generation techniques. Then your marketing efforts will point people to your lead capture page and then you can turn that lead into a buying client and/or a prospect to enroll your business.

If all you’re doing is advertising your business, and not capturing leads, you are doing your self a disservice. You must obtain the leads and build relationships with the people whose names you acquire.

Now when you learn how to market correctly, you will learn how to perfect these assorted marketing strategies. You do NOT need to perfect them all so don’t get intimidated by how many types of traffic marketing there are. Some very thriving internet marketers only use 1 or 2 of these strategies, but they concentrate on them, get good at them, and they take action with them.

You can use things like FaceBook or MySpace to draw traffic to your squeeze page. You can utilize forums and blogs to establish yourself as an expert and get traffic to your squeeze page that way. You can also run advertisements on other people’s ad sites or use Pay Per Click advertising to get traffic to your leads capture page. Pick one to begin.

Your lead capture page becomes the entrance point into your marketing retention and follow up practice, because the traffic that you capture there goes into your Autoresponder.

All the contacts go into YOUR autoresponder. This is because you need to create a list of your own clientele and prospects. This is a key point, because in the majority of internet business out there, all of your pains go to building a customer list for the company, NOT you!

You need to be doing this no matter what business you are in, whether it’s Qivani, GDI, Maddy Moo, etc. You need to get the traffic to your landing page so that you can acquire the lead.

The autoresponder becomes your email manager, your marketing follow-up system and your client retention system.

By using an autoresponder you can stay in contact with your potential recruits and over time they will be positive to either buy products from you, enter your business (if you are network marketing) or be converted into resellers (if you are in affiliate marketing).

Use the email messages you send via your autoresponder list to help your contacts. After all, they wouldn’t have opted in for your list if they didn’t think you had something to give them. So don’t disillusion them. Give them free of charge things, give them instruction, teach them, and indirectly sell them on your business or products. Give them marketing training and show them how they can be doing well with the goods you are selling or if they join your business. Under promise and Over deliver!

You can in fact earn an income from this. We’ve set ourselves up with services and products so that we can earn money even if people don’t enter our business. This is because we have built a catalog of names that we are creating relationships with.

So remember, no traffic – no leads, and with no leads you can’t keep your business running.

If you are already running a business, you need to set up a training curriculum so that you can put forward even more to your list of persons. If you have yet to link up with a company you need to locate a company that gives you with the right kind of marketing education. A superior training series should show people how to set up their lead capture pages and autoresponder and instruct them on which types of traffic marketing will work best for them.

Bear in mind, you don’t have to use every one of the different types of marketing to obtain traffic. You can use the various methods individually. The important thing is to use at least one of them, get decent at it and stick with it.

So don’t waste any more time. Start doing things the right way and get the marketing training you need.
